Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (IATA: MRU, ICAO: FIMP), also known as Mauritius Airport, is the main international gateway to Mauritius. It hosts international flights to Europe, Asia and Africa. 


Mauritius Airport was named after the first Prime Minister of Mauritius after its independence, Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam (1900 – 1985). Mauritius Airport is located at Plaine Magnien, 48 kilometers (26 nautical miles) southeast of Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. MRU Airport is the main hub of the national carrier Air Mauritius.
